Along with the grey reef shark and the whitetip reef shark, the blacktip reef shark is one of the three most common sharks inhabiting coral reefs in the Indo-Pacific. This species dominates shallow habitats, while the other two are usually found deeper. Fast-swimming and active, the blacktip reef shark can be found alone or in small groups; large "social" groups have also been observed. Dimensions: 16 x 8 x 4.5 centimeters.
